Te Papa European Masterpeces

Today I visited the Te Papa European masterpieces exhibition and for the first time saw a real Picasso, Degas and Renoir. I saw a few other gems that moved me and something by Evenepoel  “At Café d’Harcourt in Paris” and Liebermann’s “Samson and Delilah”.  For some reason I really loved Evenpoel’s painting – maybe I read too much into it as a commentary on society at the time. I don’t get much about abstract painting though, sometimes it seems almost ugly or discordant.  But I walked and stood for about three hours so as well as nurturing some part of my soul, I challenged my physical self. I like that.
